2026 Vital Ramadan Support to 500+ in Insaan Aid Centre

SYLHET: In a significant humanitarian effort, Insaan Aid has distributed cash assistance to over 500 elderly individuals, widows, and underprivileged community members in Shahparan. This initiative serves as essential support for families preparing for the upcoming Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Event

The distribution ceremony was held on Saturday afternoon, February 14, at the Insaan Aid Centre in Islamabad, Shahparan. The event was graced by Khushnoor Rubaiyath, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Sylhet Sadar, as the Chief Guest.

In her address, the UNO highlighted several critical themes:

  • Government Collaboration: She noted that Insan Aid works tirelessly alongside government efforts to elevate the living standards of the nation’s most vulnerable populations.
  • Commendable Initiatives: She described the provision of cash aid and allowances for the elderly and widows during Ramadan as a noble and praiseworthy undertaking.
  • The Power of Expatriates: She emphasized that expatriates are a driving force of the national economy and play a vital role in humanitarian service by supporting the poor from abroad.

A Call to Action: Highly praising Insan Aid’s activities, she urged other social organizations to step forward for the welfare of both the nation and humanity.

Key Attendees & Leadership

The program was presided over by Mohammad Mujibul Haque (Assistant Treasurer, Insaan Aid) and featured several notable speakers:

  • Special Guests: Ruhul Amin Selim (Member, Insan Aid) and Nazmul Haque (Executive Director, IDEA).
  • Welcome Address: Engineer Noor Uddin (Overseas Development Manager, Insaan Aid).

  • Program Host: Volunteer Shamsul Alam Zakaria.

The ceremony opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Hafiz Atiqur Rahman. Also present were Insan Aid Project Officers Habibur Rahman Habib and Rubel Ahmed, along with local dignitaries.

"Ensuring Rights, Not Charity"

The event concluded with a powerful sentiment from Khushnoor Rubaiyath, who reminded the audience of the philosophy behind the mission:

“This cash distribution is not an act of pity or mercy. It is about ensuring and delivering the rightful dues of underprivileged people.”

She closed the ceremony by calling upon citizens from all walks of life to contribute to human welfare from their respective positions.
